The Key to Auburn's Offensive Success

Anyone who has every played sports knows that phsically exhausted players make mistakes and that's what Auburn is counting on.

If you've read many interviews of Coach Malzahn you've heard him say time and time again that the speed in which Auburn's offense plays is key to their success.  I never understood exactly how important the pace was until I watched several video interviews from Auburn's defensive players.  They spoke of how tiring it is just trying to keep up with the pace of the offense, that it's easy to find themselves bent over holding their knees.    The offense is unrelenting and there is no time to rest.

What this offensive pace does, in addition to wearing out the defense,  it dramatically limits defensive substitutions and prevents in most cases the defense from calling their plays accurately.  This negates most depth advantages that the other team may have thus keeping their over worked players on the field.
